TRE® Classes

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises or TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating to release muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return to a state of balance. TRE® is based on the fundamental idea, backed by research, that stress, tension, and trauma is both psychological and physical. TRE®’s reflexive muscle vibrations generally feel pleasant and soothing.  After doing TRE®, many people report feelings of peace and well-being. TRE® has helped many thousands of people globally. TRE® Classes are virtual only and can be done individually or with a group. For more information about TRE® visit www.traumaprevention.com.

Mind, Breath, Body Workshop

The research is clear, inactivity is no good! Sitting is bad for our health and Trauma is at an all-time high! The focus of this workshop is on how we can move more efficiently in our bodies by introducing movements that increase muscle toning, promote fascial hydration, and help release body tension.

In this workshop Learn:

  • How to take time for yourself and benefit from it

  • How changing the way we sit, move, think and breathe can affect the size and function of our lungs, influence our body weight and overall health

Benefits:

  • Allows us to hack into our own nervous system

  • Control our immune response and help restore our health

  • It can help us live longer

After this workshop you will know how to

  • Release muscle tension in the body

  • The best way to sit down and stand up to prevent injury

  • Proper posture for sitting

  • A guide to breathing more efficiently

  • A guide to lessen lower back pain

  • Suggestions to retrain your body to move more efficiently

  • Guidance to improve overall body flexibility, and increase your reach

  • A path to create new efficient muscle memory

  • General Fitness Assessment with a Focus on Mobility and Stability

Restorative Movement

Let’s go back to the beginning with Primal Floor training and Rolls to better connect with your body and surroundings, and improve your overall movement and body functionality. Learn neuromuscular strength and conditioning activities, including resistance, dynamic stability, balance, core strength, plyometric, and agility exercises, to boost health- and skill-related physical fitness components and prevent injuries. Unlike conventional strength training, neuromuscular exercise (NEMEX) aims to improve sensorimotor control and attain functional joint stabilization by addressing the quality of movement in all three movement planes.

Stability and Mobility - Functional Training

Assessments and Correctives to enhance performance and functional movement. The first session is a zero point assessment. This is a complete body overview that allows us to identify any inflammation present in your body. We use this information to bring awareness to these areas and focus on releasing, relieving, and exploring possible ways to heal and alleviate inflammation at the site and in the overall body. From there, we use a three-part approach to test for concentric, isometric, and eccentric motions. This muscle testing assessment shows us where there is compensation in the body.

Relaxation and Tension Release

When our nervous system learns to keep certain muscles tight due to repetitive activities, stress, injuries, or athletic training, we lose full voluntary control of the muscles. But this loss of control is only one reason why it’s challenging to release muscle tension, get out of pain, and change our posture. As our muscles gradually get tighter over the years, we also lose sensation. Not being able to sense how tight our muscles are and not having an accurate sense of our body position can make it very difficult to retrain our posture. This loss of sensation is called sensory adaptation, and it occurs with nearly all of our sensory systems (taste, smell, touch, etc.). In general, activity in sensory systems is highest during and immediately after a new stimulus is presented. Within a short period of time, our sensory receptors return to their normal resting state, even if the stimulus is still present. This class teaches breathing and tension release exercises the participant can use on a regular basis to calm the nervous system and ease tension.

Immersive Sound Healing

Experience the healing power of Sound Immersion. Sound Healing involves playing instruments and "immersing" participants with sound. Usually done in groups, one or a few people play instruments while everyone else relaxes and listens. The purpose of a Sound Bath is to promote deep relaxation, fostering a sense of well-being and more expanded states. Stresses and anxieties fade away as one merges with the many different frequencies that the instruments provide. Since sound moves energy, and we are virtually 99.9999% space, the frequencies allow for the opportunity to open and let go of what may be held at a physical, mental, or emotional level, all within a safe and nurturing environment. Sound baths can range from 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, and participants should be in a comfortable physical position either lying or sitting. An example would be a restorative yoga pose lying and supported with mats, pillows, or any props that allow for maximum comfort, including blankets to provide a warm and nurturing feeling. It's helpful if the outside environment can be quiet, but not necessary.
